Drama Club Travels to Stratford Shakespeare Festival
Nearly 40 EGRHS students, teachers, alumni, and parent chaperones traveled to
Stratford, Ontario, over the Memorial Day weekend to attend the Shakespeare Festival. The
annual two day trip, organized by EGRHS Drama director, Mrs. Pamela Steers included
tickets to three productions: Camelot, The Grapes of Wrath, and a choice of Jesus
Christ Superstar or Shakespeare's Richard III, as well as am
Actor's talk where students were able to ask questions of some of the
Festival actors.
The Phantom of the Opera a HUGE success!
A four night sold-out run
of EGRHS production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit was extended with an added Saturday,
April 30th 1 p.m. matinee which was also a near sell-out! A special thanks to our underwriting sponsors and many benefactors including The East Grand Rapids
Schools Foundation, Lakeshore Opticians, AtlasEPS, The Arts Council of Greater Grand Rapids,
Designvox, Dale Sprik & Associates, Lacks Enterprises Inc., Swanson Associates, East Grand Rapids Music Boosters, Richard H. Phillips, and Mark & Barbara Gerson.
Their financial assistance helped make it possible to bring this fabulous production of Phantom to the EGR
Performing Arts Center stage.
