Auditions and Rehearsals
General Information
EGRHS theatrical productions are open to all EGRHS students. Everyone is welcome! In addition to acting roles, students are needed for many aspects of the production, including stage managing, sound and light design, stage crew, costuming, make-up, publicity, set construction, ushers and house managers.
Students wishing to audition for a stage role should attend the Drama Club meeting prior to auditions, or check the Drama Club Bulletin Board for details. Students who would like to be involved in a production position must stop by at least one scheduled audition and fill out an interest form. Contact Mrs. Steers, or the director in charge of the show if you have a conflict.
Theatrical productions are a big-time commitment. The time required varies depending on what aspect of the production a student is involved in. Acting roles require the largest time commitment, with scheduled rehearsals 5 times a week for up to 6 weeks prior to performance. Backstage involvement (with the exception of Stage Managers and Student Directors) requires participation 1-3 weeks prior to performance. Check your schedules carefully and come to auditions with known conflicts.
Final Cast and Production lists are normally posted on the Drama Club Bulletin Board the Friday of audition week. They will also be posted on the website.
2011-12 Audition Schedule
Auditions are held in the Little Auditorium, unless otherwise posted. Times are posted on the Drama Club Bulletin Board. Scripts are often available one week prior to auditions for overnight perusal. Check them out from Mrs. Steers. Be sure to come to auditions with a list of known conflicts.
